Candy Bar Blondies

Did you ever make something, think about it months later and want it again only to realize you’ve lost the recipe?  That’s what happened with these – I lost the recipe.  I searched online – but I look at so many recipes online that I had no idea where I found the recipe the first time I’d made them.  Well, looking for my Alfredo recipe today, I found a scrap of messy paper that had the recipe for Candy Bar Blondies – Joy!

Candy Bar Blondies

1 cup butter
2 cups light brown sugar, packed
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups of your favorite candy bar, roughly chopped (we used Baby Ruth with incredible results)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Butter and flour a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
Melt butter in saucepan.
Remove from heat and whisk in brown sugar and vanilla.
Whisk in eggs, one at a time, until mixture is glossy and smooth.
Whisk together flour, baking soda and salt.
Whisk into butter mixture.
Stir in candy pieces reserving 1/2 cup to sprinkle over the top later.
Spread into prepared pan.
Sprinkle reserved candy pieces evenly over the top.
Bake for approximately 35 minutes.
Cool completely.
