Sweet Short Pastry

Sweet Short Pastry

Ingredients
2 cups flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup butter, chilled
4 tablespoons shortening, chilled
5 tablespoons ice water

Directions
Combine sugar and salt.
Cut the butter and shortening into pieces, and cut into the flour until crumbly.
Mix in vanilla.
Add just enough water to form a ball.
Knead quickly into a smooth ball.
Wrap in plastic wrap, and chill for 1 hour.
When ready to use, roll dough out as you would any crust.
