Chewy Peanut Butter Brownies

I can’t believe I haven’t posted this recipe to the blog yet – seriously.  We love these, and when I don’t feel like looking through my hand-written books for recipes, I typically know I can come to the blog to quickly access my favorites.  Much to my surprise and dismay, these were missing from the rotation.  Not anymore.

Chewy Peanut Butter Brownies

Ingredients
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/3 cup butter
2/3 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9×9 inch baking pan.
Cream together peanut butter and butter.
Gradually blend in the brown sugar, white sugar, eggs, and vanilla; mix until fluffy.
Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into the peanut butter mixture until well blended.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes in preheated oven, or until the top springs back when touched.
Cool, and cut into 16 squares.
