Banana Cake with Vanilla Cream Frosting

Banana Cake with Vanilla Cream Frosting
adapted slightly from Butter Yum 

2 tablespoons butter, softened
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup sour cream (I use light)
1 egg
2 extra ripe bananas, mashed
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda

2 tablespoons butter, softened
1 1/4 cups confectioners’ sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
heavy cream, enough when added with vanilla to make 1/4 cup

Cream together sugar, butter, sour cream and egg.
Add in mashed banana and vanilla.
Combine flour, salt, and baking soda; add to creamed mixture.
Mix well and pour into buttered 8 x 8 inch pan.
Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 20 to 22 minutes or until done.
Allow cake to cool completely before frosting.

Cream together butter and sugar.
Combine cream with 1 teaspoon of vanilla to make 1/4 cup total.
Add to the creamed mixture and mix until combined and fluffy.
