Fried Dough

Fried Dough
 King Arthur Flour

2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons cold butter, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
3/4 cup lukewarm water

Combine flour, powder and salt.
Cut in butter.
Stir in the warm water to make a soft dough.
Allow the dough to rest for 15 minutes.
Divide dough into 8 pieces.
Roll each piece into a 5 inch round.
Heat oil to 375 degrees.
Cook only 1 round of dough at a time for 60 seconds per side, or until light brown on both sides.
Remove from oil and place on paper towel lined baking sheet and place in 200 degree oven to keep warm while cooking the other dough.
Serve with maple syrup, powdered sugar, cinnamon, apples, etc.
